An
improvement in your teeth and smile can give you a new lease
of life!
These patients
have decided to make a choice that transformed their lives forever!
Porcelain
veneers
Veneers are thin shells made of porcelain which can be used to do minor correction
of shape and colour of teeth. The procedure is relatively painless and very
quick. Only a minor degree of tooth preparation is required and once they have
been produced the new veneers are simply bonded on to the outer surface of
the tooth. Using modern technology veneers can now be produced within a space
of 2-3 hours from the time you walk into our dental office.

A common
presentation of front teeth with slight differences in angulation
and shape.

This
patient was treated with a combination of tooth whitening and four
front porcelain veneers (Cerec-3D veneers). The end result was
a beautiful pleasing smile.

Cosmetic
crowns
Crowns, also known as “caps”, are essentially similar to veneers
but involve preparing all tooth surfaces and not just the front surface. They
are usually made of porcelain with an underlying layer of metal for support.
The metal however tends to show through leading to discolouration at the gum
margin. Advances in porcelain technology have created a new generation of strong
crowns without the underlying metal. These all-porcelain crowns is the preferred
choice for rebuilding our front teeth.

The above
patient had crooked teeth and wanted a pleasing smile within
a short time frame. As an alternative to braces, one tooth in
the upper and two teeth in the lower were crowned. The lower
teeth needed root canal treatment.
The above
patient had unsightly gaps in her front teeth and was also
missing her canines. As she needed an instant makeover, her
two front teeth were reduced in size and rounded for a more
feminine appearance. The teeth next to the missing canines
were also prepared to support a porcelain bridge.

Cosmetic
Tooth Recontouring
Tooth reshaping involves minor modification of just the outermost surface (the “enamel”)
of the tooth. Hence this process is commonly known as “enameloplasty”.
Enameloplasty is simple & easy and most importantly a pain free method
of making minor corrections to the shape of your tooth. There is virtually
no “downtime” as no injections are required. These minor changes
bring about a significant increase in the overall appearance and smile.

The patient’s
main complaint was that her two front teeth were too long. Her
other complaint was that the teeth had jagged edges. All four
front teeth were shortened proportionately and rounded to give
a more natural & feminine appearance.

Dental
implants
Dental implants are new teeth which are supported by artificial titanium roots
(“implants”) embedded in the jaw. Implants are the closest replacement
to natural teeth that is currently available. The procedure involves 2 stages.
In the 1st stage a minor surgical procedure is carried out to place the new
titanium root. The 2nd stage is done after a 3-month healing period. Porcelain
crowns or bridges are attached to the underlying implant/s. During the healing
period you will not have to go without teeth.

Missing upper front tooth due to a road traffic accident.
The ideal replacement is a single tooth implant which will
give the most natural and aesthetic final appearance.

An
implant was surgically placed and the surrounding bone and gums
repaired

New implant crown cemented in place. Final appearance is excellent. Both cosmetics
and eating ability have been restored to level before the accident.

Gum
regeneration

The patient’s canine appeared too long as a result of receding gums.
The surrounding gums were surgically repositioned (moved downards) to create
gums around the canine for natural looking appearance.
Cosmetic
gum recontouring

The patient’s
smile was unaesthetic as a result of the unbalanced gum level
of the two front teeth. In addition the old crowns had an opaque
appearance and the gum margin was discoloured. A cosmetic gum
recontouring procedure where the low gum line (arrow) was pushed
up to symmetrical was carried out and new crowns placed to create
a pleasing smile.
Tooth
whitening

Our teeth
tend to yellow with age, and especially if we consume coffee
and tea in excess. Tooth whitening using a chemical peroxide
and an intense blue light can lighten your teeth by may shades
to the desired final colour.
